This painting is about the kind of support that holds you up when you have nothing left. A wounded soldier, his head bandaged, leans on his comrade. This is more than physical aid, it’s a moment where someone quite literally becomes your balance, your strength, your “hold on.”

War takes much, but it also gives rise to something unbreakable: true brotherhood. There is no pathos or glory here, just exhausted, living men holding each other up. This work speaks to a simple but powerful truth: we survive because we’re not alone.
