“Captivated”
paper, gouache, pastel, charcoal, pencils
This artwork is dedicated to Ukrainian prisoners of war — especially the fighters of the Azov Regiment who have remained in Russian captivity for over two years. The faces here are not abstract symbols — they are real people. Each set of eyes is unique, recognizable, alive. Each one a reminder that this is not a distant tragedy, but a collection of personal stories still unfolding.
The phrase “Lost track of time, captivated” isn’t poetry — it’s a condition. In the dark space where days blur, only the gaze remains. The hands reaching toward the Ukrainian trident aren’t a symbol of victory — they are an act of memory, of holding on to something that gives meaning in the void.
